Partly Cloudy with a Chance of Snow Showers

For weeks now the forecast in our area has been pretty much the same, "Partly cloudy with a chance of snow showers, cold, high 34."

Apparently the federal Department of Education is experiencing a similar winter monotony. Since December 13, 2010, the grants forecast at ED has read, "TBD." To be determined. Normally, notices start appearing on the ED grants forecast in early to mid-January for funding programs with deadlines in March and April (when most ED grant competitions are held).

The lack of updates on the forecast page is disconcerting to us here at KFA. We normally know how our spring crunch is going to go down by now. The suspense is killing us.

But, there is hope. Today's high is supposed to be a whopping 50 degrees and the rest of the week promises to stay above 40. Maybe ED will thaw out along with us.
